"AIDS IN AFRICA:  A Fight For Survival"

A Television Documentary on The Voice of America

Kampala, Uganda

ABOUT THE STORY

The picture of AIDS in Uganda has changed drastically.  Just five years ago, twenty percent of the population was infected with the virus that causes AIDS.  Now, new infections have dropped by as much as fifty percent.  Although officials and AIDS experts are pleased, they are not resting.  Despite shrinking resources and increasing debt, Uganda continues its vigilant efforts to keep the AIDS epidemic in check.
