INTERNATIONAL CRIME ALERT – AL-ZAWAHIRI

The United States has established a list of "Most Wanted Terrorists." Several of the twenty-two fugitives on this list, including Osama bin Laden, are part of al-Qaida, the terrorist group responsible for the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Others are wanted in connection with previous terrorist attacks.

Ayman Al-Zawahiri [EYE-mahn ahl-zah-WAH-hree] has been indicted in connection with the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. He is a top associate of Osama bin Laden.

Ayman Al-Zawahiri was born in Egypt on June 19th, 1951. He is an Egyptian citizen. Al-Zawahiri speaks Arabic and French. He is a physician and the founder of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad. This terrorist group seeks to overthrow the secular Egyptian government and replace it with an Islamic state. It has also attacked U.S. and Israeli interests in Egypt and abroad.

Al-Zawahiri is believed to serve as an adviser and doctor to Osama bin Laden. He has brown/black hair and dark eyes. He wears a beard and mustache. Al-Zawahiri has an olive complexion. He wears eye glasses.

The U.S. is offering a reward of up to twenty-five-million dollars for information leading to the arrest of Ayman Al-Zawahiri. If you have information concerning this fugitive, you should contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. The
