Entitled “America Fights Back” and originally aired in the U.S. on Oct. 12, this special program of the popular television series airs in English this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. EST (1800 UTC), with re-broadcasts continuing through April 2002. An Arabic-language version of the special will be aired tomorrow, Oct. 30 at 2:00 p.m. (1900 UTC). Versions in other languages, including those of Afghanistan and the surrounding region, will be produced for future broadcasts. America's Most Wanted has established a website (www.amw.com) to receive information about the suspects from overseas viewers in response to the special broadcasts. Just before today's premiere, at noon EST, America's Most Wanted host John Walsh will join former CIA Director James Woolsey on Talk to America, the Voice of America's daily radio/TV call-in program. Director Woolsey, from VOA’s Washington studios, and Mr. Walsh, who will take part in the program by phone, will discuss worldwide terrorism and take questions from listeners and viewers around the world. “America's Most Wanted has produced a powerful video on the 22 most wanted terrorists,” said VOA Director Robert Reilly. “We are enormously gratified that the show’s producers have granted us the exhibition rights to much of the world. The program is a formidable weapon in the fight against international terrorism, and it just may help apprehend some of the suspects," he added. WORLDNET Television provides news and public affairs programs that reflect American life, and discussions of U.S foreign and domestic policies on seven satellites, 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, to a worldwide audience through broadcast outlets, cable systems, and direct-to-home satellite receivers.
