VOA to Provide Multi-Media
Coverage of Vice Presidential Debate


 

Washington, D.C., Oct. 5, 2000 -- The Voice of America (VOA) will provide live, multi-media coverage of this evening’s Vice Presidential debate to its worldwide audience of some 91 million people. 

VOA News Now radio, WORLDNET Television, and the VOA website will carry the debate between Vice Presidential candidates Richard Cheney and Senator Joseph Lieberman live tonight at 9:00 p.m. EDT (0100 UTC). The remaining scheduled Presidential debates will also air live on VOA radio and WORLDNET television, and will be live-streamed on the Internet at 9:00 p.m. EDT, Oct. 11 and 17 (0100 UTC, Oct. 12 and 18). 

VOA provided live, multi-media coverage of the first Presidential debate on Oct. 3 including live reaction from a group of diverse American voters convened at the VOA headquarters in Washington, D.C. News about the 2000 Presidential race and coverage of past events is available on the VOA website, www.voa.gov.
