Gao Zhan Speaks Directly with Audience in China
On Monday, August 6 at 9:00 a.m. (EDT), American University professor Gao Zhan will be the guest on the Voice of America’s (VOA) Mandarin radio-television simulcast program China Forum. This hour-long VOA call-in show will be Gao’s first opportunity to discuss directly with Chinese citizens her arrest, five month detention and sentencing on charges of spying for Taiwan – charges Gao says are unfounded. The interactive program, broadcast via short-wave and medium-wave (AM) radio as well as satellite television at 9:00 p.m. Beijing time, typically receives calls from throughout China. The program will be available on-demand via www.voa.gov/chinese/ following the broadcast.
